I often work in nature, on the water’s edge, in a meadow. In such cases, I also use plants as a painting tool. The series “On the Meadow” was also made with a grass brush, where the gesture, the artist’s momentary mood, is conveyed by vibrating blades of grass, weaving the surface with a fine network of lines. The trace of the plant’s own movement is added to the artist’s gestures.
The“Later Layers”were only added years later to those “grass” pictures, which I felt were incomplete and empty in the meantime. Originally, these were also gesture paintings made by vibrating and flapping tufts of grass. However, with the geometric layers painted on afterwards, I returned to my eternal and recurring question: Can very different things be in harmony with each other?
The frottage series“Messages”is also the result of collaboration with nature. Here, signs (codes) reminiscent of Sumerian cuneiform are found on the trunk of a white poplar tree, which is common in wetlands.

I like working with paper and experimenting with paper.“Tile designs”are made with direct printing and monotype
The “Folded paper” series deals with planned or random folding and creasing of papers. The folds become visible with the help of frottage. It becomes clear how different materials react to folding and creasing, what they allow to be realized from the image plan.
The series titled Coloroid dates back to the college years in Pécs, to the TDK in Color Dynamics. It reminds me of Dénes Horváth, the great teacher and artist whom I consider my master.
My series titled “Layers”builds on qualitative contrast, where layers of chaotic landscape and natural forms collide with the translucent layers of geometric shapes and order.
My “Figurative” series, was made around 2000. At that time, I encountered again and again the inhuman and hopeless situation of the refugees from the African hunger zone (Sahel). By researching on the Internet, I got to know and fell in love with these special ethnic groups, their buildings, their clothing, and their cultural values. Compositions where African natives were placed in an unusual situation were also made, to Europe, Berlin, Budapest, Lake Balaton, Becehegy, etc. The series, made with oil in a realistic style, also contains other speculations, ethnic, mythological and social contrasts.
